For the sake of accuracy, I’m applying the “half-assed” label to this bedtime iPad sketch. But I’m kind of liking the concept of evoking a figure with just a hint of tone. What do you see?

Sketch theme of the day: draw your childhood hero. Amazing that I ended up a carnivorous non-smoker with no tattoos and no muskels.

I know I normally post at night, but I couldn’t wait! After a while on the iPad I decided to return to the computer to finish it. It’s a lot easier to work on detail with a real graphics tablet. I thought this turned out pretty well. Even though I haven’t done too many digital paintings, I think the last 9 months of drawing have improved my ability to capture a likeness.
