Ha, and you thought I’d just been slacking. No, I’ve been working on a little video project.

Wait, is it slacking when you have a whole year to edit a video and you wait until the last four days? Crap.

Just in case I keep up with my trend of not posting every day, here’s a topical sketch that will work all Kentucky Derby/Cinco De Mayo weekend!

But seriously, I’m a little embarrassed about failing to pick up my drawing utensils lately. Rest assured I’ll be back in el saddle soon.

So many weirdos on the subway, and I’ve finally made the cut. I’ve been riding it more often, both to get to work on time, and to get to classes and events.

I’m smiling because I’m in a sweet spot right now, and not because of my relatively boring new job. My bachelor nerd studio apartment-dwelling lifestyle hasn’t changed much since the late 90s, but I can safely say that my mid-30s have brought about the ability to leave the house feeling comfortable in my own skin. So if you’re in your 20s and wallowing in self-doubt, I can tell you it gets better. That is, if you continue to live like you’re in your 20s. If you get hitched and reproduce…godspeed sucka!

This is pretty much the only thing I scribbled this weekend. I’ve sketched Bethesda Fountain in Central Park many times, and always much better than this, but this was a very quick doodle.

Starting off small, but my new default break time location is also an ideal spot to doodle strangers, an activity I’ve been neglecting for far too long.
